"What school will my children attend?"

Have you ever wondered why when a Realtor is asked “what school in Alameda will my children attend” why the proper answer is “please call the Alameda school district”?

Well there is a very good reason; the Realtor probably doesn’t work for the school district first off.
But, more importantly people just like yourself have possibly already researched the school district and have probably settled on an Alameda neighborhood based on the quality of its schools nearby.

The situation here in Bay Farm Island and Harbor Bay Isle is there are two public elementary schools, Bay Farm and Amelia Earhart. There are separated by about one half mile distance from each other. Each school has only so many seats available and the overflow must go somewhere within their attendance areas.
So while you may prefer one school over the other, your children may not be able attend the nearest school because of seating availability.
We wouldn’t necessarily say don’t buy a home in your preferred neighborhood because while you might be inconvenienced in the beginning, there are waiting lists to be gotten on. Again Nancy and I would not be able to tell you how soon you might be able to get your child into your preferred school either.
So the correct answer to “what school in Alameda will my children attend” is “please call the Alameda School District”, they will have the correct answer. If you are ever told they can attend one specific school you are being misinformed. Nancy and I are not trying to be rude or misleading, we just don’t have the most accurate answer you deserve.
